McGill University

McGill University is a coeducational university in Montreal, Canada. It is supported chiefly by the province of Quebec. Courses are conducted in English, though Montreal is primarily a French-speaking city. James McGill, a Canadian merchant, willed money and land to set up the university. It was chartered in 1821 and opened in 1829.
