Montana, University of, is a state-supported school in Montana. The university’s main campus is in Missoula. It also has campuses in Butte, Dillon, and Helena. The Missoula school was chartered in 1893 as the University of Montana. It was renamed the State University of Montana in 1913, and then Montana State University in 1935. In 1965, it was again named the University of Montana. It is part of the Montana University System. The university’s athletic teams are called the Grizzlies.
