Mount Nebo was the peak in the Mount Pisgah range from which Moses saw the Promised Land. According to the Bible (Deuteronomy 34:5), he died there. Mount Nebo is probably Jabal an Naba, in present-day Jordan. A shrine to the Babylonian god Nebo may have stood on the mountain.
