Mount Washington is the highest peak in New Hampshire and in the Northeastern United States. It rises 6,288 feet (1,917 meters) in the Presidential Range of the White Mountains. It lies in a resort area. In the summer, the summit can be reached by hiking trails, automobile road, or cog railway. See also White Mountains .
