Navy Jack

Navy Jack is a small flag flown at the bow of a naval ship. Special jacks are flown by the navies of many nations. The jack of the Royal Navy of the United Kingdom is the Union Flag. The traditional jack of the United States has 50 white stars on a blue background. Since 2002, the U.S. Navy has instead used the First Navy Jack. This flag is thought to have been used as a jack by the Continental Navy in the 1770’s. It has 13 stripes, alternating red and white, with a rattlesnake and the motto “Don’t Tread On Me.” .
