Nectar is a sugary liquid that is produced by flowering plants. Nectar is secreted from tissues called nectaries that are frequently in the flowers or other parts of flowering plants. Honey bees collect nectar to produce honey. While gathering nectar, bees usually spread pollen from one plant to another. Hummingbirds and many kinds of moths and butterflies also feed on nectar.
