Pug is the largest of the toy-sized dogs. It is compact, standing 10 to 14 inches (25 to 36 centimeters) tall at the shoulder and weighing 14 to 18 pounds (6.4 to 8 kilograms). The pug originated in China and has flourished since before 400 B.C.
The pug has short, smooth hair that may be black or fawn in color. It has a deeply wrinkled face, with a short muzzle, big, bulging brown eyes, and black ears. If the pug is fawn-colored, it should also have a black mask on its muzzle.
The pug is devoted, faithful, playful, and charming. It lives to please people and makes a great companion and family dog.
