Quebec, University of, called the Université du Québec in French, is Canada’s largest university network. It includes coeducational universities based in Gatineau, Montreal, Rimouski, Rouyn-Noranda, Saguenay, and Trois-Rivières. It also includes the National Institute for Scientific Research and the National School of Public Administration, both based in Quebec City, and the School of Higher Technology in Montreal. All courses are in French. The Tele-University, part of the University of Quebec at Montreal, offers distance learning programs. The government of Quebec established the University of Quebec system in 1968. Its administrative offices are in Quebec City.
