A municipality may include rural areas as well as the urban center. Santa Ana is an important commercial center, especially for the production of coffee and sugar. Other important industrial activities in Santa Ana include brewing and the manufacture of cotton textiles, footwear, and furniture. Santa Ana also has a national theater and an art school.
