Aeolian harp, << ee OH lee uhn, >> is an unusual ancient musical instrument. It consists of a wooden box with from 8 to 15 strings of various thickness stretched along the top. The strings are raised slightly by low bridges near each end of the box. The instrument produces soft, exotic sounds when the wind blows on the strings, causing them to vibrate. The Aeolian harp is named for Aeolus, the ancient Greek god of the winds.
