Zonta International is a worldwide service organization of executives in business and the professions. The organization works to improve the legal, political, economic, educational, and professional status of women. The Zonta International Foundation presents 40 Amelia Earhart Fellowship Awards annually to women pursuing graduate study in aerospace-related sciences and engineering.
Zonta International was founded in 1919 in Buffalo, New York. The name Zonta is a Sioux Indian word that means honest and trustworthy. Zonta International’s headquarters are located in Chicago.
