Jerome, Jerome K.

Jerome, Jerome K. (1859-1927), was a British author. Three Men in a Boat (1889), a book of humor, is typical of his comic works. But his most popular play, The Passing of the Third Floor Back (1908), was not a comedy. It showed the influence of a Christlike stranger on a group of sordid, shiftless people. Jerome Klapka Jerome was born on May 2, 1859, at Walsall in Staffordshire, England. He died on June 14, 1927.
