Rehan, Ada (1857-1916), an American actress, was famous for her portrayal of Katherine in William Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew. She was the leading actress in theatrical manager Augustin Daly’s stock company for 20 years. From 1879 until her retirement, she played over 200 parts. She was born Ada Crehan on April 22, 1857, in Limerick, Ireland. She died on Jan. 8, 1916.
