Sinclair, Harry Ford (1876-1956), was an American oil producer and refiner. His vast holdings became the Sinclair Oil Corporation (now Atlantic Richfield Company). He was involved in the Teapot Dome oil scandal of 1923, but was found innocent of fraud (see Teapot Dome ). He went to prison briefly in 1927 for contempt of the U.S. Senate during an investigation. Sinclair as born in Wheeling, West Virginia.
