Nectar was the drink of the gods in Greek mythology. They drank out of cups brought to them by Hebe and Ganymede. Nectar was probably like sweet red wine. It was drunk with ambrosia, the food of the gods. Nectar and ambrosia gave youth and immortality to those who took them.
