Condon, Edward Uhler

Condon, Edward Uhler (1902-1974), an American physicist, became noted for his contributions to theoretical physics. In 1928, he helped apply new quantum theories to radioactive processes. Condon was born in Alamogordo, New Mexico, near the site of the first atomic-bomb test. He received a Ph.D. degree from the University of California in 1926. He taught at Princeton University and at the University of Minnesota, and became a professor at Washington University in 1956. From 1963 to 1970, Condon taught at the University of Colorado. He retired in 1970.
