Seinfeld, Jerry

Seinfeld, Jerry (1954-…), is an American comedian . He became famous as the co-creator, producer, co-writer, and star of the popular television comedy series “Seinfeld” (1990-1998). The series became one of the most successful in TV history. The show primarily consisted of loosely constructed episodes about life in New York City. The episodes featured Seinfeld, played by himself, and his friends George (Jason Alexander), Kramer (Michael Richards), and Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus).

Jerome Allen Seinfeld was born in the Brooklyn section of New York City. He studied theater and communication arts at Queens College and graduated in 1976. Seinfeld struggled as a nightclub comedian for several years. He received his first big break as a guest on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson ” in 1981. He became one of the most popular stand-up comedians of the 1980’s, making hundreds of live and TV appearances each year.

Seinfeld provided the voice of a bee in the animated motion picture Bee Movie (2007). In 2012, he began hosting the web series “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.” A web series is like a TV series, but it is viewed on the internet.
