Barkly Tableland is a vast plateau in the Northern Territory and Queensland, in Australia. It runs parallel to the southern shore of the Gulf of Carpentaria, roughly from Daly Waters to Mount Isa. It rises to more than 985 feet (300 meters) near the border between the Northern Territory and Queensland. The area offers some of the best grazing land in the Northern Territory. It includes huge ranches.
