Bohol

Bohol is an island province in the Philippines, in the Visayan region. It is centrally located between Leyte and Cebu. Bohol extends over an area of 1,590 square miles (4,117 square kilometers). The interior forms a high plateau that runs from northeast to southwest. About 1,000 small cone-shaped hills—often called the chocolate hills of Bohol—rise in the west.

Most of Bohol’s inhabitants live along the coast and fish for a living. Farmers also grow coconuts, rice, sugar, and corn, and raise livestock and poultry.
