Edward, Prince (1964-…), is the third son and youngest child of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom. He is patron of several British arts organizations and chairman of the Prince Philip Trust Fund, a charitable organization.
Prince Edward Antony Richard Louis was born in London, England, on March 10, 1964. He attended Gordonstoun School in Scotland and studied history at Cambridge University. In 1999, he married Sophie Rhys-Jones and became Earl of Wessex. The couple has a daughter, Louise Alice Elizabeth Mary, who was born in 2003; and a son, James Alexander Philip Theo, who was born in 2007. In 2023, Edward’s brother King Charles III named him Duke of Edinburgh, a title formerly held by their father, Prince Philip.
From 1993 to 2002, Prince Edward was joint managing director of Ardent Productions—a company that makes programs for television. Edward later concentrated on his public duties as a member of the royal family.
