Slieve Donard is the highest peak in the Mourne Mountains in Down, in Northern Ireland. It rises 2,796 feet (852 meters) above sea level. On clear days, views of the Donegal Mountains to the west, the Wicklow Mountains to the south, and the Isle of Man in the Irish Sea may be had from its summit. Slieve Donard is named after a saint of the A.D. 400’s.
