Woundwort

Woundwort is the name of several species of plants of the mint family. All are native to Europe and Asia. They tend to have a light-colored, hairlike covering. The flower spike is usually broad, and the small, individual flowers are generally pink or purple. Several related species are grown as ornamental plants. Lamb’s tongue is a type of woundwort grown for its foliage, which is covered with a dense mat of silvery hairlike parts. Its name comes from the form of the flower spike.
