William, Prince (1982-…), is the elder son of King Charles III of the United Kingdom and the heir to the British throne. William’s mother was Diana, Princess of Wales, and he is a grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II. His full name is William Arthur Philip Louis Windsor.

Prince William was born on June 21, 1982. He attended Ludgrove Preparatory School, in Berkshire. He then attended Eton, one of the leading private secondary schools in the United Kingdom. In 2005, he received a master’s degree in geography from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. He completed his military training at the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst in 2006 and was commissioned an officer in the Blues and Royals regiment of the Household Cavalry in the British Army. In 2011, William married Catherine (Kate) Middleton, his college sweetheart. At the time of the wedding, Queen Elizabeth gave William the titles Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn, and Baron Carrickfergus. She also gave Catherine the title Duchess of Cambridge.
Prince William’s younger brother is Prince Harry. The two brothers endured the divorce of their parents in 1996 and the death of their mother in 1997. Their father, Charles, became king upon the death of Elizabeth II in 2022. After Elizabeth’s death, William and Catherine became the Prince and Princess of Wales and the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, Cambridge, and Rothesay.
