Bennington College is a private, independent, liberal arts college in Bennington, Vermont. The campus lies in the Green Mountains in the southwestern part of the state. Founded as a women’s college in 1932, the school became coeducational in 1969. Well-known graduates of Bennington College include painter Helen Frankenthaler, actors Tim Daly and Holland Taylor, and writer Kathleen Norris. Actor Alan Arkin and entertainer Carol Channing also attended Bennington College.
