Utah State University

Utah State University is a public, state-supported institution of higher learning in Logan, Utah. The university was founded as the Agricultural College of Utah in 1888 under the Morrill Act of 1862. This act granted public lands to support agricultural or mechanical education. In 1929, Utah Agricultural College was renamed the Utah State Agricultural College.The university adopted its present name in 1957. In addition to its main campus in Logan, the university has a distance education program and several regional campuses throughout the state. Utah State University athletic teams are called the Aggies. A well-known graduate of Utah State is Senator Harry M. Reid of Nevada.
