Bardsey Island lies in Cardigan Bay off the west coast of Wales. It is an important bird sanctuary. The island is about 2 miles (3 kilometers) long and about 1 mile (1.6 kilometers) wide. About 20 people live on Bardsey. It has a harbor and the remains of an abbey dating from the 1200’s.
