Inverclyde (pop. 78,426) is a council area in the west of Scotland bordering the Firth of Clyde. The council area was established in 1996, and it is responsible for all local government services within its boundaries. Inverclyde’s industries include electronics, engineering, and textile manufacturing. Many of these are based at Port Glasgow and Greenock. Gourock is a popular resort in Inverclyde.
