Molyneaux, James Henry (1920-2015), was leader of Northern Ireland’s Ulster Unionist Party from 1979 to 1995. He held a seat in the United Kingdom’s House of Commons from 1970 to 1983 and from 1983 to 1997.
Molyneaux was born on Aug. 27, 1920, in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. He served in the Royal Air Force during World War II (1939-1945). Molyneaux took an active part in local government in Antrim before he entered national politics. He was knighted in 1996 and was made Lord Molyneaux of Killead in 1997. He died on March 9, 2015.
