Tararua Range is a range of mountains in the southern part of the North Island of New Zealand. They extend from near the Manawatu Gorge in the north to the southern end of the Wairarapa Valley in the south. They form a natural barrier between the Wairarapa Valley and the coastal plains to the west. See also New Zealand (The land).
