Amberton University is a private nondenominational Christian university. Its main campus is in the Dallas suburb of Garland, Texas, but the school has a second campus in Frisco, Texas. Amberton University offers upper-division and graduate studies. Upper-division classes are classes for juniors and seniors. The university admits only students 21 years of age or older who have completed some college work. Most Amberton students are working adults. The university has no athletic programs and no student housing. The school was founded in 1971. Until 2001, it was known as Amber University.
