Arkansas Tech University

Arkansas Tech University is a public university in Russellville, Arkansas. The Arkansas General Assembly founded it in 1909 as an agricultural training school. In 1925, it became a four-year college called Arkansas Polytechnic College, but it soon reduced its course offerings and served as only a two-year college from 1927 to 1948. The college then added third- and fourth-year courses to its curriculum and resumed awarding bachelor’s degrees in 1950. It acquired university status and its present name in 1976.
