Central Arkansas, University of, is a public, state-supported institution of higher learning in Conway, Arkansas. It was established in 1907 as Arkansas State Normal School. In 1925, its name was changed to Arkansas State Teachers College. It became the State College of Arkansas in 1967 and then the University of Central Arkansas in 1975. University of Central Arkansas men’s sports teams are called the Bears, and the women’s sports teams are called the Sugar Bears.
