City University of Seattle is a private, independent institution of higher learning in Bellevue, Washington, a suburb of Seattle. It was established as City College in 1973. The school changed its name to City University in 1982 and to City University of Seattle in 2007. The institution was designed to serve working adults who could not become full-time students but still wished to further their education. In addition to offering day, evening, and weekend classes, City University offers distance learning and makes classes available through the Internet.
