Evansville, University of

Evansville, University of, is a private institution of higher learning in Evansville, Indiana. The university is affiliated with the United Methodist Church. It was established in 1854 as Moore’s Hill Male and Female Collegiate Institute and then renamed Moore’s Hill College in 1887. It became Evansville College in 1919 and finally the University of Evansville in 1967. The university’s athletic teams are called the Purple Aces.

The university offers opportunities in professional programs and internships. Students may also spend a semester abroad at the university’s campus at Harlaxton College in Lincolnshire, in the United Kingdom.
