Toy fox terrier is a small breed of dog developed in the United States. It grows 8 1/2 to 11 1/2 inches (21.6 to 29.2 centimeters) high and weighs 4 to 8 pounds (1.8 to 3.6 kilograms). The dog has a muscular body and a smooth, shiny white coat with black, chocolate, or tan markings. Its head is mostly black, chocolate, or tan in color. The head has large, erect, triangular ears and a moderately long muzzle. The short tail also stays erect.
During the early 1900’s, breeders in the United States developed this dog by crossing smooth fox terriers with other breeds, including chihuahuas, toy Manchester terriers, and miniature pinschers. Toy fox terriers have loyal, intelligent personalities and can make excellent pets.
