USA Freedom Corps

USA Freedom Corps was a government organization that sought to promote community service, volunteer activities, and responsible citizenship in the United States. Its programs addressed concerns relating to education, the environment, poverty, safety, and homeland security. The USA Freedom Corps worked in cooperation with businesses, religious organizations, schools, and other groups to increase community participation and awareness. President George W. Bush established the organization in 2002. It lasted until the end of Bush’s presidency in 2009. Many of the functions of the USA Freedom Corps were then shifted to the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), a federal agency.
