The 2016-2017 team became the first team in Scotland’s highest league to finish the season undefeated in over 100 years. Celtic finished the season with 34 wins and 4 ties. In 1967, Celtic became the first British club to win the European Cup. The European Cup became the UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) Champions League beginning with the 1992-93 season.
