Paisley, Brad (1972-…), is a popular American country music singer, musician, and songwriter. He is known for his skillful guitar playing and for the humor and pop-culture references he includes in his songs. Paisley has recorded many number-one country hits, and his songs and albums have won numerous awards.
Brad Douglas Paisley was born on Oct. 28, 1972, in Glen Dale, West Virginia. When Brad was 8 years old, his grandfather gave him his first guitar. Paisley graduated from Belmont University in Nashville in 1995 with a degree in music business.
Paisley’s first album, Who Needs Pictures, was released in 1999. It featured the hits “He Didn’t Have to Be,” “Who Needs Pictures,” “Me Neither,” and “We Danced.”
Paisley’s other hits include “I’m Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin’ Song)” (2001); “Mud on the Tires” (2003); ”She’s Everything” (2006); “Ticks,” “Online,” “Letter to Me,” “I’m Still a Guy,” and the instrumental “Throttleneck” (all 2007); ”Waitin’ on a Woman” (2008); and “Then” (2009). Also among Paisley’s hits are a number of duets he recorded with other country performers. These songs include “Whiskey Lullaby” (with Alison Krauss, 2003); “When I Get Where I’m Going” (with Dolly Parton , 2005); “Start a Band” (with Keith Urban , 2008); and “Remind Me” (with Carrie Underwood , 2011).
In 2001, Paisley became a member of the Grand Ole Opry . He wrote the autobiography Diary of a Player (with David Wild, 2011).
