Bullock, << BUHL uhk, >> Sandra (1964-…), is an American television and motion-picture actress known for her skill in performing in both comedies and dramas. She received the Academy Award for best actress for her performance in the drama The Blind Side (2009). In that film, she portrayed a woman who adopts a young homeless man who becomes a National Football League player.

Sandra Annette Bullock was born on July 26, 1964, in Arlington, Virginia. She studied acting at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, but did not graduate. When she was 21, she moved to New York City to pursue a career in theater. Later, she moved to California to act in television and motion pictures. In 1990, she starred in the short-lived situation comedy “Working Girl.”

Bullock acted in a number of films before becoming a star in the action film Speed (1994), one of the biggest box-office hits of the 1990’s. She also starred in the film’s sequel, Speed 2: Cruise Control (1997).

Bullock starred in the action films Demolition Man (1993) and The Net (1995). She performed starring roles in the dramas Wrestling Ernest Hemingway (1993), In Love and War (1996), Hope Floats (1998), Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood (2002), Crash (2004), The Lake House (2006), Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close (2011), and Gravity (2013). Her notable comedies include The Thing Called Love (1993); While You Were Sleeping (1995); 28 Days (2000); Miss Congeniality (2000) and its sequel, Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous (2005); The Proposal (2009); and Our Brand Is Crisis (2015). She also starred in the crime thrillers A Time to Kill (1996) and Murder by Numbers (2002) and the action comedy The Heat (2013). In addition, Bullock provided her voice for a character in the animated motion picture Minions (2015).
