Harper, Bryce (1992-…), is one of the best players in Major League Baseball (MLB). Harper plays for the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League (NL). A power-hitting outfielder, Harper won NL Rookie of the Year honors in 2012 as the league’s best first-year player. In 2015, he hit .330, led the National League in home runs and runs batted in (RBI’s), and was named the league’s Most Valuable Player (MVP). In 2021, Harper won his second NL MVP award. Harper, who spent his first seven seasons with the Washington Nationals, has been named to seven NL All-Star teams.
Bryce Aron Max Harper was born on Oct. 16, 1992, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Harper bats left-handed and throws right-handed. He played one season at the College of Southern Nevada, a community college, in 2010 and won the Golden Spikes Award as the top amateur baseball player in the country.
Washington chose Harper as the number one selection in the 2010 draft. He played in the Nationals’ fall instructional league in 2010 and for the minor league Hagerstown Suns and Harrisburg Senators in 2011. Harper was just 19 years old when he joined Washington early in the 2012 season. In 2019, Harper signed a free agent contract to play for the Phillies.
