Hemsworth, Liam (1990-…), is an Australian actor. He is best known for playing the character Gale Hawthorne in the “Hunger Games” series of motion pictures, beginning with The Hunger Games (2012). The movies are based on a trilogy of young-adult novels by the American author Suzanne Collins. 
Liam Hemsworth was born on Jan. 13, 1990, in Melbourne, in the Australian state of Victoria. As a teenager in the first decade of the 2000’s, he appeared on the Australian soap operas “Home and Away” and “Neighbours.” His brothers, Chris and Luke, also became actors. In 2009, Liam moved to Los Angeles, California, to audition for the lead role in the superhero movie Thor (2011). Liam’s brother Chris got the part that Liam wanted. But Liam was cast in the film The Last Song (2010), a romantic drama based on a novel by the American author Nicholas Sparks. His part in this film proved to be his breakout role in his Hollywood career.
Hemsworth’s other motion pictures include the drama Love and Honor (2013); the thrillers Empire State and Paranoia (both 2013); the science-fiction film Independence Day: Resurgence (2016); and the action film Killerman (2019). Hemsworth also appeared in the drama The Dressmaker (2015), based on a novel by the Australian author Rosalie Ham. In the romantic comedy Isn’t It Romantic (2019), he played a fantasy version of the perfect man.
From 2018 to 2020, Hemsworth was married to the American singer and actress Miley Cyrus.
