Clark, Abraham (1726-1794), was an American political leader during the American Revolution (1775-1783) and a New Jersey signer of the Declaration of Independence. He served in the Second Continental Congress, the Congress of the Confederation, and the United States Congress.
Clark was born in Elizabethtown, New Jersey, on Feb. 15, 1726. He was called the Poor Man’s Counselor because he defended poor farmers in land cases. He died on Sept. 15, 1794.
