Congressional page

Congressional page works as a messenger in the United States Senate. Pages carry messages between the Capitol and the Senate office buildings and run errands for the senators. Senators appoint a limited number of young people from their home states to work as pages. Pages enter the program as high school juniors. They serve during the fall or spring academic semester, or during a summer session. Pages attend a special high school and live in a special residence hall. The U.S. House of Representatives also had a page program but ended it in 2011.
