Darcy, Les (1895-1917), was a champion Australian boxer. From 1910 to 1916, Darcy won all but 4 of his 49 fights, 29 by knockout. He won the Australian middleweight title in 1915 and heavyweight title in 1916. Jimmy Clabby was among the world-ranking boxers that Darcy defeated.
Darcy was born on Oct. 28, 1895, in Stradbroke, New South Wales. His full name was James Leslie Darcy. He had his first professional fight in 1910, at the age of 15, after fighting as an amateur for a year. Darcy died of an infection at the age of 21 on May 24, 1917.
