Fireweed

Fireweed, also called willow herb, is a plant that looks like a long wand. It is native to North America, Europe, and Asia. It grows from 3 to 6 feet (0.9 to 1.8 meters) high. Narrow leaves up to 6 inches (15 centimeters) long grow along the stem. In summer, clusters of rose-purple flowers bloom along the stem. The fruits are slender, four-sided pods. The plant is called fireweed because it springs up quickly after forest fires. It is the official flower of the Canadian territory of Yukon.
