Flowering maple, also called Indian mallow, is a group of herbs and shrubs that usually have heart-shaped leaves. These plants grow in temperate regions of Africa, Asia, and North and South America—that is, regions with hot summers and cool or cold winters. There are dozens of species (kinds) of flowering maples. The flowers may be a wide variety of colors. They grow singly or in clusters.
