Accentor is a small perching bird that resembles a sparrow. Accentors live in the temperate regions of Asia and Europe. An accentor’s plumage is made up of browns and grays. Accentors have a warbling song and eat insects, seeds, and berries. There are several species (kinds) of accentor. The alpine accentor is widespread. In the breeding season, it lives high above the tree line. It makes a cup-shaped nest, hidden in a rock crevice. The dunnock, also called the hedge accentor or hedge sparrow, is common in gardens and hedges.
