Guilder, << GIHL duhr >>, was a unit of money in the Netherlands and the Netherlands Antilles. It was replaced by the euro, a European Union currency, in 2002. The name guilder also applies to several other German and Dutch coins no longer in use. Other names for the guilder are gulden and florin.
