Jabiru

Jabiru, << JAB uh roo, >> is a kind of stork that lives in South America. It grows to about 5 feet (1.5 meters) long, with a wingspread of around 7 feet (2.1 meters). Its huge bill measures about 1 foot (30 centimeters) long. The jabiru’s plumage is pure white. The bill and legs, as well as the head and neck, are all black, except for a reddish ring of skin around the lower neck. Jabirus feed on frogs, fishes, and other water animals. See also Stork.
