Arrowroot is a plant cultivated in many tropical countries. People use the rhizomes (underground stems) of the arrowroot plant to make a light starch that is used in puddings, pie fillings, and other dessert mixtures. The starch obtained from the plant is also called arrowroot. See also Starch .
